On the case back, an exhibition window allows for a view of the automatic movement ticking inside, complete with a quick date function that makes it easier to set the day and date window at 3 o’clock. The movement also boasts a 40-hour power reserve, ensuring reliable performance throughout your day. On the clean dial, luminant hands and markers make it easier to read the time when the lights are low. We’ve topped off this suave timepiece with a flat mineral glass crystal and paired it with a brown natural leather strap responsibly sourced from the Leather Working Group (LWG) and equipped with quick-release spring bars.

Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. Due to their improved scratch resistance versus acrylic, and improved shatter resistance versus sapphire, mineral is often considered to be the best of both worlds as a crystal material.

"I love the watch other than I thought the markers and hands were luminous. They appear to have the lumen material applied to them but I have tried several times to get them to glow by exposing the watch face to direct sunlight for a time and no glow. Other than that I would say it is a good watch. It does have a Japanese movement and seems to work very well. Time will tell."

- Draper model availability in Korea? It’s not listed on the Timex Korea store, and the Timex USA site doesn’t ship it to Korea (same for the 1983 E-Line). Do you have any plans to release or restock the Draper in South Korea? If yes, could you share an expected timeline? I’m collecting Timex cushion-case models—after the 1978 Reissue and the Marlin Sub-Dial, adding the Draper would complete my cushion collection.
