Ticking inside this iteration of our iconic 1960s Marlin® is a tried-and-true 21-jewel automatic movement, creating a contemporary timepiece that honors our watchmaking history. Powered by your motion as you wear the watch, the movement can store a maximum 40 hours of energy. If motionless longer than 40 hours, wind the watch using the crown until you feel resistance, set the time, and place it back on your wrist where every motion will supply the energy. True to our original Marlin design, this watch features the iconic domed acrylic crystal, complemented by a stainless-steel case, green dial, and classic black leather strap sourced from the S.B. Foot Tanning Company.

Acrylic lens are a specialised form of plastic akin to Plexiglass and were commonly used in early to mid-20th century watches. It is a softer material that can be more prone to scratches but conversely is very shatter-resistant. Given its softness any scratches though can be buffed out. Acrylic lens are synonymous with vintage-inspired timepieces and thus can be found on our Marlin and Q Timex collections.

- Hello Liz! Great question — the Marlin® Automatic 40mm Leather Strap Watch is currently sold only in the black strap color shown on its product page. It does not come in additional strap colors as part of the original configuration. However, if you'd like to personalize the look, we offer a wide range of replacement straps that can be purchased separately.

- Hi Ken! All our watches are sold as shown in the product images, so we do not offer customization, such as changing the band strap. However, you can purchase a separate replacement strap with the correct lug width if you’d prefer brown.
