This watch features a slip through leather strap that can be easily changed in seconds and positioned comfortably on your wrist.
A lightweight plastic polymer with excellent impact resistance and a warm vintage appearance that can be easily polished to remove scuffs.
Highly impact-resistant
Acrylic lens are a specialised form of plastic akin to Plexiglass and were commonly used in early to mid-20th century watches. It is a softer material that can be more prone to scratches but conversely is very shatter-resistant. Given its softness any scratches though can be buffed out. Acrylic lens are synonymous with vintage-inspired timepieces and thus can be found on our Marlin and Q Timex collections.

"I’ve been wearing the MK1 everyday since I received it. 40mm is the perfect size for this watch so don’t listen to the naysayers. It’s a nice homage to the old school aesthetically with a more modern fit. It looks great on the wrist and very strap friendly so you’ll have many options with the 20mm lug size. Wait for a 20% off sale and grab it guilt free. It should retail for about $50 less than it’s MSRP, but I’d not feel as if I were ripped off even at retail. Love the direction Timex is going but wish they’d follow their roots and start building more heritage watches in the United States."
"I'm a fan of traditional field watches, and own several, including vintage Benrus and Hamilton models. I dinged the crystal on my father's old RAF Hamilton the other day, and it made me realize I needed a knock-about version. I got a discount on a Timex Mk1 last week, and have worn it every day since. The 40mm size seems like a pie-plate compared to a typical 36mm, but it has grown on me. The Japanese movement is very smooth, and the band is a perfectly serviceable NATO style. The lume is fine (I'm used to the very minimal luminosity on my vintage watches). I really admire what Timex has done with their brand. I have an American Documents Timex that I use on dress occasions, and I would love to see Timex do more watches along those lines, with US sourcing and assembly. As for this watch, I would recommend to anyone who wants an everyday field watch of classic design."
"The MK1 is a good choice for a simple, daily-use watch. It’s stylish but keeps a slightly “rugged” look. My only complaint concerns the strap. It’s thinner than I thought it would be. I think it could use a thicker strap. Other than that, this watch is a solid choice for anyone trying to save a little money and still get a good watch."
"Not so fond of the way the strap is configured. The 2 fixed metal clasps seem excessive and (I think) will rub against long-sleeve shirt cuffs. I also wanted to buy a spare strap at the same time I bought the watch, and there is simply no way to do that on your website."
