A mechanical automatic movement winds itself using the natural motion of your wrist — a rotor inside spins as you move, storing energy in a mainspring. This spring slowly releases power through a precise series of gears and an escapement, driving the hands in a smooth, sweeping motion. It’s a self-sustaining engine, no battery required. When worn daily, it stays powered continuously — keeping perfect time without needing to be reset.
This stainless-steel case is highly resistant to rust, corrosion, and tarnish, ensuring your watch remains in excellent condition over time. It's also hypoallergenic and incredibly strong.
A soft, lightweight, and breathable fabric strap ensures a comfortable wearing experience throughout the day.
A lightweight plastic polymer with excellent impact resistance and a warm vintage appearance that can be easily polished to remove scuffs.
Highly impact-resistant
Acrylic lens are a specialised form of plastic akin to Plexiglass and were commonly used in early to mid-20th century watches. It is a softer material that can be more prone to scratches but conversely is very shatter-resistant. Given its softness any scratches though can be buffed out. Acrylic lens are synonymous with vintage-inspired timepieces and thus can be found on our Marlin and Q Timex collections.

"Watch looks greats, perfect size for my wrist. The mechanical self-winding movement is insanely accurate. It has only drifted a few seconds in almost a week's time, though the rate has fluctuated from day-to-day. I'm very pleased with it. Keep offering more options for manual wind and self-winding movements. I prefer and enjoy the nostalgic ritual of manually winding my watch, so I would like to see more options for the manual wind movements. One bit of feedback for them (which of course doesn't apply to this MK-1 automatic) is for the manual winds, make the crown a little bit bigger. On the automatic movement used in this MK-1, the crown size is perfect, it's very easy to grasp and manipulate for manual winding (when I haven't worn it enough and want to give it some extra wind) and for setting the time. Make the manual wind only movements have a slightly larger crown and those would be as perfect too (the manual wind movements in your other models like the Marlin reissue keep very good time at single digits per day gain, which is quite excellent). Both styles of mechanical movements you are using are excellent, and I look forward to more models having both types coming out"

I love that the case is brushed not polished. The only thing I would have changed is a sapphire crystal instead of acrylic but not a deal breaker. Lately I have been switching between my Hamilton field and the mk1 which is a compliment for timex!"
