Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. Due to their improved scratch resistance versus acrylic, and improved shatter resistance versus sapphire, mineral is often considered to be the best of both worlds as a crystal material.

"I'm very happy with this purchase. It is a duplicate if the watch I've had for years, but the leather strap is wearing out from water (I'm a dog groomer so my hands are constantly in water). I also need the INDIGLO feature because I wear it to bed to keep track of the time. I am VERY nearsighted and can't see the clock by my bed at night, and setting the alarm would wake my husband before he needs to get up. Are replacement watchbands availible?"

- Is this shock resistant because my watch just stopped suddenly so I took it off and when I took it on it suddenly starts after chopping axe and jump on the rock aggressively. I took off the back the battery popped out.

- How do I set the date so that the date cycles beginning at 12 midnight? At present it displays yesterday's date until mid-day and then finally cycles to today's date but by then it is 12 hours behind. Is there a specific hour at which it must be changed?
