A toughened glass made from silica that's heat- and scratch-resistant, offering clear visibility and solid everyday durability.
Mineral Glass
Enhanced durability
Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. Due to their improved scratch resistance versus acrylic, and improved shatter resistance versus sapphire, mineral is often considered to be the best of both worlds as a crystal material.

This is a nice dress
"This is a nice dress watch that offers some distinguishing visual touches. The watch has a nicely designed face with the white dial having a touch of silver to its color. The use of roman numerals is a distinctive touch as well. The crystal offers distortion when viewed at an angle, which is a stylistic feature I have seen on higher end watches and adds to this watch's impression. The black leather band has contours, looks nice, and feels comfortable on the wrist. The 40mm size may seem a bit large for those with smaller wrists. One negative is that the Indiglo feature of the watch, one of the reasons I like Timex watches, did not work out of the box. I have sent it in for warranty repair. I have purchased other Timex watches in the past where this feature worked fine. It seems to be a bit of a quality control issue and I hope in the future Timex can make this feature more reliable as it is one of the things that sets them apart from other manufactures. Overall happy with this purchase."
