Enhanced durability
Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. Due to their improved scratch resistance versus acrylic, and improved shatter resistance versus sapphire, mineral is often considered to be the best of both worlds as a crystal material.

"The Timex IRONMAN Adenaline Ana-digi 46. 5mm PU Strap Watch has all the features I have been trying to find ever since it became difficult for me to see the curved digital display on the Timex Expedition Analog and Digital i've been coping with for years. A very nice appearance with excellent visibility for the most part. (obviously the hands get in the way a bit between 4 and 8 o'clock, but not a problem for me) I like the indiglo and the alarm repeats 5 minutes later if you don't cancel it within 20 seconds the first time it alarms. some complaints - Ii doesn't have a rotating bezel for a countdown for a quick task, It only has one time zone with the digital functions, the directions online for this watch do not match the controls and features on this watch. The lap start/stop isn't even accounted for and the buttons are not identified correctly in the user manual - button b functions as button c, button b is supposed to be the indiglo if i remember correctly but indiglo function is button c. the start/stop and button d are plus and minus in the settings modes. it's just not in the user manual. FORTUNATELY - the negative display briefly shows the function of the respective buttons so I worked it out even though the tiny markings were difficult to see and kept turning off before I could focus on them and then the settings display had to be re-initiated so I could catch them. Now I know what they are so, it's just as well I can't see them since I don't need to see them anymore. I like the watch, I'd like to see a rotating dive timer bezel type thing and directions that matched the watch in the user manual supplied through Support Download: Timex-IRONMAN_-_-_-_--_-Ana-Digi-990-096574-01. pdf."

I like that it has two distinct settings for the time although I don't need that. Also like that the digital can be turned off, though I don't use that like I thought I would. I've gotten used to the look with the digital on 24 HR."
