Acrylic lens are a specialised form of plastic akin to Plexiglass and were commonly used in early to mid-20th century watches. It is a softer material that can be more prone to scratches but conversely is very shatter-resistant. Given its softness any scratches though can be buffed out. "Nice looking watch. I’ve never had a watch quite this small before although it list the sizing it seems like it’s probably better situated for a woman. The face of the watch is raised a little bit. "Since I’ve bought this watch I’ve never worn it. I took the wristband apart to readjust for a smaller wrist and could not put back together. The links were weak and bent out of shape. My husband tried, I tried nothing worked. Therefore it’s just gathering dust."

I had a Timex fifty years ago and it seemed like a disposable watch. It’s nice to see that Timex also sells nicer watches than the ones I had as a teenager."
"This is a great throwback to 80s design. I love the automatic design- no need for batteries! The downside is of course that the watch will lose time and need to be periodically reset. It’s quiet especially compared with the Timex Weekender Snoopy watch which is loud like a classroom clock. The gold watch band is pretty, almost to the point of being blingy, but goes well with work or smart casual clothes."

Just be aware that Timex is shopping watches via UPS "Mail Innovations" - which means there will be no tracking information or estimated delivery date. My watch is over a week late, and after several phone calls I still cannot get a working tracking number, status, or estimated delivery date. Fingers crossed it shows up and I can make an actual review."
