Enhanced durability
Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. Due to their improved scratch resistance versus acrylic, and improved shatter resistance versus sapphire, mineral is often considered to be the best of both worlds as a crystal material.

"This is my first time buying a watch I was always giving watches as a gift. . I absolutely love them I just wish the faces were a lot smaller I only weigh a hundred pounds maybe you can make a children's version. . . also I wish it would glow in the dark I got the peanuts one where they're all sitting in the pumpkin patch it would have been really cool if the numbers would have been iridescent or glow in the dark but I still love my watches anyway"
