Acrylic lens are a specialised form of plastic akin to Plexiglass and were commonly used in early to mid-20th century watches. It is a softer material that can be more prone to scratches but conversely is very shatter-resistant. Given its softness any scratches though can be buffed out. Acrylic lens are synonymous with vintage-inspired timepieces and thus can be found on our Marlin and Q Timex collections.

"Another absolutely beautiful vintage-styled watch from Timex! Like the mechanical Marlin reissues from a few years back, this has the same 34 mm case width and similarly classic styling. Unlike those Marlins, however, it has a slightly brighter face and reflective hands (making it easier to read) and a quartz movement (making it more accurate and reliable). Not being a fan of leather straps, I switched it out for a NATO-style one and it pairs nicely."

It is very similar to the California dial in its simplicity (minus a few Roman numerals…) but the quartz movement makes it so very easy. It is just very elegant and small and unadorned.
