Enhanced durability
Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. Due to their improved scratch resistance versus acrylic, and improved shatter resistance versus sapphire, mineral is often considered to be the best of both worlds as a crystal material.

A watch so nice I bought it twice
"The Timex Expedition is a classic watch, and this holds up to expectations for the line while exceeding them. The printed dial is a nice sepia-like hue with a well-matched white color in the lume of the hands. The Indiglo works well and adds to the utility of this classic quartz field watch. The brown leather band offers a nice accent with the black watch body and dial text. And a handy date window too! I bought this, worried that it might be too good to be true. The Weekender is a nice watch, but it's a bit basic, and the ticking is loud. This is much quieter, far more sturdy and weighty than I was expecting, and just feels like it's worth more than the price tag says. This feels like the kind of field watch I was expecting, tough and utilitarian, but also great looking. My only complaints are small ones, and easily remedied. The leather strap looks nice, but the leather was quite dry. Conditioning it with even my lightest oil had a surprising darkening effect. The leather really needed that oil, and I had started to notice deep wrinkles where the buckle clasps on the other side. This should help keep it going longer. The other issue is with the Indiglow crown. It seems it can sometimes get a bit stuck, requiring a bit of a wiggle or another press to stop the illumination. Still, for the price, I not only bought one for myself, but also one for my dad for Father's Day."

- I got question about Timex TW4B26000 and Timex TW4B12500, to be more precise, about the back cover of the watch. Do all watches have a capital E on it or some got more familiar engraving of the Timex, timepiece model number on it? What does it depend on?
- Hi Maksym! The capital "E" engraving on the case back is a signature design feature for Expedition series watches. Other Timex models typically have the full Timex logo and model number engraving.
