It is a softer material that can be more prone to scratches but conversely is very shatter-resistant. Given its softness any scratches though can be buffed out. "Love the watch - except for getting to know the watch. 1) the manual sent - the print is way too small 2) When I asked for a manual with larger print, it took close to a week to get a response 3) when the manual showed up - the directions that were given were a bit different that what the watch buttons actually operate - so, confusing"

"Nice watch but I would have preferred to receive the version with the white background display shown on the Timex web-site rather than the green background display. Also, the on-line photos showed user-removable screws for battery replacement. The version received had the triangular head screws which require going to a watch repair shop just to change the battery. Recommend with above caveats."
"The watch is one of my favorites over the years. Easy to use the analog and digital settings when traveling, keeps excellent time, and durable. One change I'd recommend would be a different wristband for comfort (and easier on/off) for those of us with arthritic fingers."
