Enhanced durability
Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. Due to their improved scratch resistance versus acrylic, and improved shatter resistance versus sapphire, mineral is often considered to be the best of both worlds as a crystal material.

"I 'LIKE' my New TIMEX 'Alot'. Not my 1st Timex. I like everything, except the Strap. Wished I would have looked a bit more for a Watch Band that is 'Metal' & 'clings' to my wrist. In retrospect, since my Wrists are NOT Large, like most Men; I wished I would have searched in the Women's Watches. . . alas, it is what it is. I just keep wearing my 15 y/o Timex. I am too Disabled to wrap my New one up to Return it. Not able to get to the Post Office, etc. Just wish I had a 'useable Band on my New one. w/o the annoying 4" 'End-Tip' sticking on everything. . ."

- Hi Rebecca! All our watches are sold as shown in the product images, so we do not offer customization, such as changing the band strap. However, you can purchase a separate replacement strap with the correct lug width if you’d prefer a different one.
