Enhanced durability
Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. Due to their improved scratch resistance versus acrylic, and improved shatter resistance versus sapphire, mineral is often considered to be the best of both worlds as a crystal material.

It’s a little smaller than I prefer or am used to, but that’s ok. The easy reader is just what the name intends. It’s easy on the eyes with the arabic numerals and has a date window as well I was able to set the time to the seconds and the indglo works well. There are things that I like more like sapphire crystal, but this is a great value for the money and a watch that I can trust as I start my collection."
