Enhanced durability
Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. Due to their improved scratch resistance versus acrylic, and improved shatter resistance versus sapphire, mineral is often considered to be the best of both worlds as a crystal material.

"I must say that I am extremely dissatisfied with your service since I never received the watch that was intended for my wife's birthday. This is very disappointing since this was exactly the watch my wife wanted, and I left clear delivery instructions with my order. Somehow, my watch got delivered to Aurora, Illinois, about 2,000 miles from where we live. What's going on?"

I’m really pleased with the watch itself but very disappointed that the band is so long it’s impossible for me to wear. I wrote customer service to ask if I could purchase a smaller band to replace it & was told no - that I could take it to a jeweler to have it resized. I have an average size wrist, not tiny or small boned. For this reason I cannot recommend unless you have a large wrist."

"I purchased this watch as a replacement for a watch that I had only had 6 months which was also supposed to be a Timex but now I have my doubts. I really like the look & style of this watch but am not happy about a couple of things. The band is too large for my wrist so I have to wear it higher on my arm than I like. The crystal is already scratched after only a week of normal wear which is disappointing. It keeps time well though & I wasn't looking for anything fancy so it will do for now. I do wish the band wasn't so large though."
