Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. Due to their improved scratch resistance versus acrylic, and improved shatter resistance versus sapphire, mineral is often considered to be the best of both worlds as a crystal material.

"I am a very novice watch collector who likes to wear two watches. I usually collect Casio and Fossil. I started to venture into Timex when I saw the Jacquie Aiche collaboration. I already have a ring watch through Fossil but I have to admit the Cavatina 16mm mini watch ring is really beautiful and very comfortable to wear. The ring watch is more comfortable than my Fossil ring watch plus the numbers and hands are easier to see. I would highly recommend this ring. I am waiting for the Cavatina 17mm watch to drop so I can wear the ring watch and the watch together. (Side note: I received my very first compliment wearing this ring! I NEVER get compliments!)"

I'm finding a certain charm
"I'm finding a certain charm in wearing a classic Timex watch on my finger. In two weeks of wearing I have no functional complaints. It's not adjustable so I'm wearing it on a finger I didn't originally intend to. I've yet to remember to take it off when I wash my hands and so I'm hoping it's waterproof as far as that's concerned."
