Last summer, the Timex Intrepid x Dimepiece brought ‘90s prep back to the wrist. Now, it’s staying out late.
Following the success of the first collaboration, which sold out within days, Timex has reunited with Dimepiece founder Brynn Wallner and vintage curator Alan Bedwell of Foundwell for a darker take on the original. Meet the Timex Intrepid x Dimepiece ‘Blackout’ Edition, a new interpretation of the ‘90s-inspired favorite, this time dressed in black.
With an all-black stainless-steel case, black synthetic rubber strap, and signature hits of Dimepiece purple, the ‘Blackout’ Edition keeps the preppy character of the original but brings a little more edge.

SAME PREP. DARKER MOOD.
Inspired by the confident, understated edge of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, the ‘Blackout’ Edition takes the familiar Intrepid silhouette in a moodier direction. Its 36mm stainless-steel case is finished entirely in black, paired with a matching molded synthetic rubber strap featuring a tonal, black-on-black debossed “TIMEX INDIGLO” logo.
Against the darker exterior, the cream dial brings a clean contrast, while pops of Dimepiece purple on the second hand, 12 o’clock hour marker, and dedicated INDIGLO® pusher add a playful touch. Skeletonized hour and minute hands, a rotating top ring, and the distinctive crown placement beside 4 o’clock round out the design.
The result is a watch that feels both familiar and fresh. It looks right at home against a summer tan but feels equally suited to the moody months ahead. Just as comfortable on a weekend hike as it is on a night out in New York City, it brings a little ‘90s attitude wherever the day takes you.

THE ORIGINAL THAT STARTED IT ALL
To understand the ‘Blackout’ Edition, it helps to go back to 1995.
The original Timex Intrepid made its debut with a bold 46mm case and the commanding presence of a tactical dive watch. When Wallner and Bedwell set out to reimagine it for their first collaboration, they wanted to preserve that distinctive character while creating something that felt more wearable today.
For Wallner, that started with the proportions. She scaled the case down to a gender-neutral 36mm, reflecting her own preference for timeless, clean, and versatile design. “Without pitch-perfect styling, bigger watches can be hard to pull off,” she explains, “so I wanted something smaller and more wearable for all wrist sizes.”
The redesign also introduced her signature purple accents, a cream-and-black dial inspired by the era’s love of contrast, and the skeletonized hands that gave the watch its unmistakable look.
The combination struck a chord. The first Timex Intrepid x Dimepiece Edition sold out within days of its launch and quickly became a wardrobe staple among tastemakers around the world.
MADE FOR DAYLIGHT. READY FOR AFTER DARK.
The ‘Blackout’ Edition builds on everything that made the first collaboration stand out, pairing its distinctive design with practical details made for everyday wear.

The flexible synthetic rubber strap sits comfortably on the wrist, while quick-release spring bars make it easy to change the strap without tools. A rotating top ring allows for tracking elapsed time, and 100m water resistance adds everyday versatility.
It's a watch that doesn't need a particular occasion. Wear it on a hike, with a crisp button-down, or out for the evening. The all-black finish brings a different attitude to each look without losing the easygoing appeal of the original.
A NEW TAKE ON A CULT FAVORITE
For Wallner and Bedwell, the ‘Blackout’ Edition is less about reinventing the Intrepid and more about exploring another side of its personality. It retains the proportions, unexpected details, and unmistakable ‘90s influence that made the first edition a favorite, while introducing a darker aesthetic that gives it an identity of its own.
For collectors who already own the original, it's a natural counterpart. For those who missed out last summer, it's a fresh introduction to a collaboration that brings together Timex watchmaking, Dimepiece's perspective on personal style, and Foundwell's appreciation for vintage design.
Same prep. Darker mood. The Timex Intrepid x Dimepiece ‘Blackout’ Edition is ready for whatever comes next.
