MARLIN: OUR MID-CENTURY ICON
This reliable watch first stepped into the spotlight in the 1960s and proved you no longer had to choose between form and function. It introduced a sleek and minimalist design with distinct hour markers that made it as much of a refined dress watch for the office as a cool and casual timepiece for everyday wear.
Highly regarded for their simple design, accurate timekeeping, and exceptional durability, our original Marlin watches were often the stars of our live televised torture tests and quickly gained popularity, becoming some of our most iconic timepieces of the 20th century.
Today’s Marlin collection draws inspiration from that era, pulling both from our archives and 1960s culture more generally. Timeless and sophisticated, it draws on the best of the past while continuing to push Timex’s legacy of style, disruption, and quality into the future.
Q TIMEX: QUARTZ CHANGED EVERYTHING
In June 1969, Timex took a gigantic step beyond existing electromechanical technology when we produced our first experimental quartz watch. The steadiness of the quartz resonance gave the watch extraordinary accuracy, and the simplicity of the movement's construction made it revolutionary. This innovative step eventually paved the way to our signature line of quartz watches, known today as the Q Timex collection.
Born of a great pivot, this collection showcases Timex’s flexibility and agility, highlighting our ability to turn crisis to triumph. Inspired by this period, the Q Timex collection is confident, irreverent, and innovative, offering vintage styling and modern updates that evoke the essence of that era.
EXPEDITION: BUILT FOR ADVENTURE
In 1995, Timex launched the Expedition line in response to the proliferation of casual dress at work and the explosive growth in popularity of outdoor activities. Demand for durable and functional watches that could stand up to the elements was on the rise, and Timex answered the call with “the watch you wear out there.”
Since then, the Expedition collection has earned its reputation for its use of premium materials, highly durable construction, and variety of helpful features tailored for the great outdoors. Rain or shine, inland or coast–it goes the distance.
We build every Expedition watch to be worn and loved for generations, while taking less from the planet and leaving less behind. This collection features a variety of sustainable features, from solar and hand-wound movements that require no batteries to straps crafted from zero-water leather and post-consumer plastic. Even the packaging is 100% recyclable. We are doing our part to preserve the wild spaces we love, and by creating better, we are doing better.
