We're Bringing Advanced Functionality to the Timex x Pan Am Collection with Two New Travel-Ready Watches
Our latest collaboration with Pan Am channels not only the charm and grandeur of travel’s early days, but also the precision, ergonomics, and unencumbered legibility all but required by early navigators as they took to the skies. With a fly back chronograph for the seamless tracking of elapsed time and a GMT for tracking 2 time zones at once, this new collection caters to those who demand precision in their journeys, both pilot and passenger alike.
Originally developed for pilots, the fly back chronograph ensures split-second accuracy and rapid consecutive timing. With our proprietary fly back chronograph movement, a single press of the fly back pusher instantly resets the chronograph to display the current lap time without the need to stop and reset, a feature crucial for maintaining precise navigation and avoiding deviations in flight. And when the chronograph isn’t in use, the upper sub-dial serves as a second time zone indicator. Adding to its functionality is a handy date window and a slide rule top ring with logarithmic scales for completing complex calculations with relative ease.
Also capable of tracking a second time zone, the GMT is equipped with a 4th hand, known as the GMT hand, which can be set independently and used in conjunction with the bezel to display two time zones at once. This complication was originally introduced to help pilots keep track of both local and home time during long-haul flights, providing them with an easy reference tool right on their wrist.
Thoughtfully detailed, both watches proudly present a stainless-steel case, a second hand reminiscent of a modern airplane, a genuine leather strap with contrast stitching and Pan Am blue lining, and nostalgic Pan Am branding on their crown.
