Enhanced durability
Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. Due to their improved scratch resistance versus acrylic, and improved shatter resistance versus sapphire, mineral is often considered to be the best of both worlds as a crystal material.

"Well, love the watch but not the band. Watch is very nice looking. Good size. The band is a no. All I know is the second day wearing the Weekender, outside, just don't sweat while wearing it. The band is very thin, soft and soaks up anything. Sweat has stained the band. I wonder if getting it just wet would do the same. Not sure what to do at this point. Haven't worn it again."

- Hi Rrsig! Great question. A rubber or silicone strap can work with the Weekender 40mm Leather Strap Watch as long as it has the correct lug width. Please note that this watch does not have a quick release strap system, so a spring bar tool may be needed for changing straps.
