Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. Due to their improved scratch resistance versus acrylic, and improved shatter resistance versus sapphire, mineral is often considered to be the best of both worlds as a crystal material.

- Any plans to bring this one back? I bought one awhile back during one of your fabulous sales, and I love it. This thing is so classic, it's like the picture you'd see in the dictionary next to "watch". Some found the band weird, and I did too at first. Now I rather like it, and the croco pattern is nice And I'm just starting to play around with customizing it with some spiffy 18mm Italian leather bands ordered online. Seriously, this could be your only watch and you'd do just fine.
