Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. However, please note that it does not have a quick release mechanism, so a tool will be needed to remove and install the strap. With the right tools and care, the process can be done at home. - I have recently received a snoopy timex watch which I love but the watch doesn’t work on my wrist. It’s happy to keep time on my bedside table but not on a human wrist.
