Enhanced durability
Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. Due to their improved scratch resistance versus acrylic, and improved shatter resistance versus sapphire, mineral is often considered to be the best of both worlds as a crystal material.

"Love the watch. It's sleek and very clean looking. The indiglo Ravenclaw light could be brighter as you can't see it with minimal light showing, but then you probably don't need it if trying to tell the time, but I like to show that feature to others so it can be difficult to see. The leather band is soft and for 39mm dial you would think it would be big but the lugs and bezel are small so it gives it a classier look as well."
