Enhanced durability
Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. Due to their improved scratch resistance versus acrylic, and improved shatter resistance versus sapphire, mineral is often considered to be the best of both worlds as a crystal material.

- I just purchased the Men’s Expedition metal field watch with the blue face, brown leather band, and luminescent hands and numerals for my 85 year old dad. I purchased it at Walmart. We are unable to figure out how the hands and numbers light up. I went on your website to see if there was a video or something to help us and could not find anything. It just says “with the push of a button.” I cannot find that button or make the one button do anything. Are you able to direct me to a video to watch or help me with this mystery. Maybe I leave the watch under a light for a while?
