The direct descendant of our 1960s televised torture test survivors, the Timex Easy Reader® continues to persevere for one key reason: it’s downright simple. Based on the dials we crafted while operating as the Waterbury Clock Company, the easy-to-read Timex Easy Reader—an uncomplicated watch with large numbers—has been a best-seller for Timex since it first launched in 1977. Our goal, then and now, was to produce a line of simple watches that could be easily read with just a mere glance. Thanks to the use of large, full Arabic numerals and bold hands, both in high contrast to the dial color—which we originally offered in white—the Easy Reader gave consumers a timepiece that could be read from across a room.

In the decades since its introduction, we’ve expanded the Timex Easy Reader collection to include a full assortment of easy-to-read watches with eye-catching color palettes, from baby blue leather straps to forest green dials. No matter the update, the Easy Reader never loses sight of its simple design, always ensuring readability even with a more fashionable look. Devoid of frills and fancy add-ons, the Easy Reader is just that, an easy-to-read watch that does nothing more than what’s it’s supposed to do: tell the time.
