There was a time when crossing time zones felt like an occasion. Flight boards flipped, departure lounges buzzed, and navigating from one place to another required instruments designed to make essential information clear at a glance.

The ongoing Pan Am® x Timex® collection returns to that golden age of air travel with two new Waterbury GMT watches built around one of aviation's most useful complications: tracking time in two places at once. One is automatic. One is quartz. Both translate the precision, legibility, and practical details associated with early aviation into watches made for journeys today.

TWO TIME ZONES. ONE GLANCE.

At the center of both watches is GMT functionality, allowing the wearer to keep track of a second time zone alongside local time.

The Pan Am® x Timex® Waterbury Automatic GMT 41.5mm does it with a battery-free 21-jewel automatic movement powered by your motion. A prominent white-and-blue triangle GMT hand works with the two-tone rotating bezel to make that second time zone easy to reference.

The Pan Am® x Timex® Waterbury GMT 41mm takes a quartz approach. Its black-and-blue GMT index and prominent orange triangle GMT hand provide a clear visual distinction between local time and the second time zone.

Different movements, same idea: wherever you're headed, another place can stay within view.

BUILT FOR READABILITY

For early aviators, legibility wasn't simply a design preference. Information needed to be read quickly and clearly. That functional thinking comes through in the details of both new watches.

On the Automatic GMT, a silver-white dial sits beneath a double-domed K1 mineral glass crystal with anti-reflective coating for enhanced clarity. Luminant hands and markers improve readability after dark, while the date window at 3 o'clock adds another useful piece of information without overcomplicating the dial.

The quartz GMT shares that focus on visibility, with luminant in-fill on the hands and markers, a mineral glass crystal, and a date window beside 3 o'clock. Then there's a detail that asks for a closer look: an impressionist airplane motif at 12 o'clock, a subtle nod to the collaboration's aviation inspiration.

DETAILS WITH A DESTINATION

The connection to Pan Am continues beyond the dial. Both watches feature brushed stainless-steel cases and bracelets, giving their functional design a clean, purposeful finish. Oversized crowns bearing the iconic Pan Am logo put the collaboration front and center in a detail you'll interact with every time you set the watch.

The Automatic GMT takes the bracelet construction further. Quick-release spring bars make changing the attachment easy, while self-adjustable links allow the bracelet to be resized without tools. When closed, its butterfly clasp creates a seamless transition from bracelet to clasp around the wrist. It's an approach that feels appropriate for a watch inspired by travel: considered, functional, and designed to make things easier along the way.

AUTOMATIC OR QUARTZ?

The two new GMTs arrive at the same destination by different routes. For those drawn to mechanical watchmaking, the 41.5mm Automatic GMT puts a self-winding 21-jewel movement at the heart of the experience. Your movement powers the watch as you wear it, combining GMT functionality with the appeal of mechanical timekeeping.

The 41mm quartz GMT offers its own interpretation, pairing dual-time functionality with an expressive orange GMT hand and aviation-inspired dial details.

The choice isn't between heritage and modern utility. Both have plenty of each. It's about choosing how you want to keep time.

MADE FOR THE JOURNEY

Pan Am helped define an era when air travel opened up a wider world. Waterbury carries a watchmaking story rooted in craftsmanship, heritage, and American ingenuity. Together, those histories find common ground in watches designed around the practical art of knowing the time, wherever you happen to be.

The new Pan Am® x Timex® Waterbury GMT watches capture that idea through the details that matter: dual-time tracking, glanceable displays, enhanced visibility, stainless-steel construction, and unmistakable references to an icon of aviation. Because destinations and time zones may change, but great travel style has a way of sticking around.
